Max Kampleman describes "The Ronald Reagan I Knew" in a piece that ran in the Weekly Standard six months ago. It's an interesting look at Reagan's leadership style, his bipartisanship, and his open-mindedness. May Kampleman's fellow Democrats take note:
The Ronald Reagan I knew and worked with had my respect and admiration. No American did more to undermine the brutalities of the Soviet Union and destroy the dictatorships of Eastern Europe. No American did more to spread the gift of democracy and respect for human dignity to people who had not enjoyed them. And no American did more to persuade our country that the spread of democracy and human rights to all peoples is the proper goal of the United States. That reality is not likely to be revealed or understood in the television program that CBS still plans to distribute next year.
